Welcome to East Bakersfield High School

On behalf of our students, staff, and faculty I would like to welcome all visitors to our website, the “e-home” of our Blade FAMILY.  I am Leo Holland, the proud principal of East Bakersfield High School.  Before becoming the principal here, I was fortunate enough to be a stakeholder who wore many of the hats you do.  I was once a classified employee here as the school police officer.  I taught here for several years and coached several area and valley champion debaters.  I live in east Bakersfield, and I was once close neighbor of the school.  In addition, our eldest daughter was the EBHS valedictorian in 2016.  Both my wife, class of 1993, and my daughter have given speeches at an EBHS graduation.  Therefore, to keep count, I have been a classified employee, a certificated employee, a neighbor, the spouse of an alumnus, a parent, and now the principal at EBHS. To put it simply, I LOVE EAST BAKERSFIELD HIGH SCHOOL!

Our school strives to provide our students with the skills and knowledge needed to succeed in life.  To that end, we are committed to providing systems of support that empower our students to succeed.  Recently we added a Parent Center to our campus to provide supports for our extended community of parents.  We recognize that our Blade FAMILY is a big family and parents are a critical element of student success.

For our staff, the education and well-being of your student is personal to them as well.  Many of our staff members graduated from EB.  All of our staff members feel a sense of home and family when they arrive to work with your students every day.

Finally, I encourage you to engage in dialog with us.  Besides our website, you can follow us on twitter @EASTHIGHBLADES, and I encourage you to do so if your data plan allows.  Please come to our events, ask questions, and stay involved.

GO BLADES!

Leo Holland
